We don’t know about your cat, but ours is very particular!
When we first got Khajiit, we started with clay litter. While the clay litter didn’t have any overall impressions on our then kitten, it did leave tiny little paw prints all over the condo.
So, like any TIKTOK obsessive, we saw the trend in using cedar pellets. We loved this option and Khajiit didn’t seem to mind the switch, plus our bank account was thrilled! However, once that caught on – supply and demand - the price of cedar pellets sky rocketed and it was no longer an inexpensive alternative.
We moved onto paper pellets, this proved to be our worst choice yet. Khajiit hated it and went on to use the carpet as his litter box to show us just how much.
We really wanted to find a litter that didn’t dust all over or have an obtrusive scent, but we clearly needed to go back to traditional litter as our sweet cat was over all of my alternative options.
Fresh Step Advanced Simply Unscented Clumping Litter was our answer. We love that this has no added dyes or fragrances, but it still keeps our living room from the scent of a litter box. The litter uses clay, carbon, and minerals to stop the odor. We don’t even get any stinky “wiffs” while he is in use of the litter box.
There is practically no dust (I mean a TINY bit when you dump the fresh litter in) or tiny paw prints appearing all over the condo. I love that there is no extra residue. Not just for the condo, but for Khajiit, it can’t be healthy for them when the litter sticks to their paws.
And we would agree that when you scoop the clumps there aren’t crumbles left behind. It does last 10 days, as long as you scoop each day.
Since this switch Khajiit has not used the living room as his litter box. He is happy, so WE are happy!
